Ajith Kumar’s “Good Bad Ugly” took a gargantuan opening in the box office and registers as all time highest Day 1 for an AK film in TN (30.9CR) surpassing his previous best Valimai (28.5CR). GBU now stands at #5 of all time in TN (Day 1) behind The GOAT, Sarkar, Leo and Beast.
The film didn’t have any special shows like his releases before Vidaa Muyarchi, but it has done superb business with the word of mouth helping it as well.
In the neighboring states Karnataka, AP/TG and Kerala the film has managed to gross 3.6CR, 1.25CR and 0.75CR respectively.
In the overseas market, Good Bad Ugly has spiked up Ajith’s career best opening at the box office – $1.76 Million on day one, with 4.18CR in the middle east and becomes the best ever opener for the star in Gulf! In UK, GBU clocked £100,000 which is also the biggest opener for an Ajith film. In North America too, $500K making as the biggest for AK, Singapore $197K, Malaysia 1.86MYR, Australia $47,945, New Zealand $5,435.
GBU is being widely celebrated by the star’s fans for its sheer fan-fest throughout! Sources say that 200 crores will be a cakewalk for Ajith this time, and he is likely to achieve it within a week’s time.
